Select Your Injury or Condition Type

Traumatic Injury A sudden, one-time work incident — slip, fall, accident, etc. Filed on CA-1.

Occupational Disease or Illness A condition that developed gradually due to work exposures or activities over time. Filed on CA-2.

Psychological / Emotional Condition A mental health condition caused or worsened by work-related stress, harassment, or traumatic events.

Schedule Award / Permanent Impairment You've reached Maximum Medical Improvement and have a permanent impairment to a scheduled body part.

Recurrence of Accepted Condition A previously accepted OWCP condition has flared up or worsened after a period of improvement.

Tips for Getting Strong OWCP Medical Evidence

Schedule an appointment specifically to discuss your FECA claim documentation — don't tack it onto a routine visit
Bring this printed checklist and give your doctor a copy to keep
Make sure your doctor uses definitive language: "is caused by" carries far more weight than "may be related to"
Follow up if items are missing — a supplemental report addressing gaps is much better than a denial
