Plain-English Summary

Who We Are

EasyFedWorkComp.com is an independent educational website providing free tools and resources for federal employees navigating workers' compensation claims under FECA. It is not affiliated with any government agency. References to "we," "our," or "us" refer to the operator of EasyFedWorkComp.com.

What Information We Collect

Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not added to any marketing list without your explicit consent.

Analytics data. We use Ahrefs Site Analytics and Microsoft Bing UET (Universal Event Tracking) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, general geographic region, and browser/device type. This data is aggregated and anonymous. Neither service collects personally identifiable information through standard analytics use.

Tool inputs. The calculators and tools on this site process your inputs (salary, impairment percentage, overpayment amount, etc.) to generate results. These inputs are not transmitted to or stored on our servers — they are processed within your browser session only.

Cookies. Our analytics providers may set cookies on your browser to track return visits and session behavior. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking.

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to contact form inquiries
  • To understand site traffic and improve tool usability
  • To identify and fix technical errors
  • To comply with applicable law if required

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it to third parties, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Substack (Federal Claims Chronicle newsletter). The newsletter is hosted and managed by Substack. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by Substack and governed by Substack's privacy policy. We do not have direct access to subscriber data beyond what Substack provides in its dashboard. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Hosting provider. This site is hosted on a third-party web host. Server logs may capture your IP address and request data as a standard part of web server operation. We do not use server logs for tracking or profiling.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • When required by law, court order, or government request
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of EasyFedWorkComp.com or its users
  • In connection with a transfer of ownership or assets of the site, with notice provided to affected users

Data Retention

Contact form messages are retained in email only as long as needed to respond to and resolve the inquiry, after which they may be deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the respective provider's data retention policies.
